On the way to Siena we made a stop at the Sulpheric River in Saturnia, in the middle of the countryside. It's a naturally hot river, and at this point it's 37°. I loved it! It's so relaxing,
completely natural and free of charge; and it's really good for your health. If you go there you have to try the mud mask! Since then we've heard of much stronger (and hotter) thermal pools around
Italy. The only problem is the better it is, the stronger the smell of rotten eggs! It stays on your clothes, so if you go to a really strong thermal pool, make sure you've old clothes with you
because it doesn't go away for weeks..
In Siena we stayed with Guido and Marta; our couchsurfing hosts. They seemed so interesting and nice, it's such a pity we didn't have much time to get to know them :(
Siena has a lovely Medieval cental square/piazza, which slopes in a semi circle so it's perfect for a picnic or just to relax and enjoy the place. Pity about the tourists (like all of Italy)..
